We woke up bright and early at the crack of dawn to head to the Digby Ferry in Saint John. I’m not sure how the times were supposed to work on this thing but apparently it was supposed to be a 3.h hour ride but we were off the boat in about two.
The boat ride was pretty awesome. The Ferry was huge and they had plenty of comfy chairs to sit in, movies to watch and even some café’s where you could grab some food. On the way to Digby, we were even able to spot some dolphins of the side of the boat!
After departing the ferry, we were officially on the mainland of Nova Scotia. From here we needed to make the drive towards Chester in order to see our first stop – The mysterious Oak Island.
We hit Chester and stopped for lunch where we enjoyed the view from an upper deck and then explored the small downtown-ish area. This was a really pretty , small town. I love how these areas are not as populated as most the cities we drove through in the states.
After lunch we stopped at Oak Island and Dad was able to talk to Rick Laginia and Dan Blankenship, two of the stars on the History Channels “The Curse of Oak Island”. I took the opportunity to read all I could on Oak Island and if my calculations are correct, there is treasure (of some sort) under there somewhere!
Our Next stop was Peggy’s Cove which was about half the distance to Halifax (where we planned on staying this night). The cove was super pretty and have plenty of rocks to climb around on!.
From here wee headed in to Halifax and we took a stop at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. This is where the bodies found from the Titanic were buried.
After Exploring around a bit we headed to the Woodhaven RV park where we were staying the night and we pitched camp and hit the hay.
