Today we had a break from waking up at the crack of dawn. We slept in till about 8am (or I should say everyone except myself slept in till 8). And grabbed some showers before heading to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
Here we learned all about some of histories adventures in ship building as well as its greatest disasters in ship History – Such as the Halifax Explosion and the disaster of the Titanic.
From here we made our way out to Advocate Harbor. This is where the Ships in the bay will rise and fall with the tide so fast that they sometimes end up resting on the ocean floor before the tide comes back in. When we got here, the water was so low the boats were about on the ground!
After a couple hours, the tide rose these boats back up to a regular float. You can tell from the height of the docks that at some points in the year there is nearly a 30 foot rise in the tides. This area is known for having the some of the highest tides in the world.
Along the way to our next stop we saw a good number of awesome scenic views of the coast!
From here we drove on down to Hopewell cape where we stayed for the night so we could what the tide come in bright and early. The Tide is supposed to be high around 6am so it will be another early morning.
