The Great Canadian Adventure!
Day 7 by Kenny

On Friday Morning, we slept in a bit since we had a hotel and grabbed some breakfast at the lobby. Our goal today was to hang out around Niagara falls a bit and then head south back to the USA and check out Jamestown – the home of Lucile Ball.

As we explored, we drove up toward Fort Erie which offered some awesome views of the Niagara river. That water is ROUGH and if you got stuck out in the middle you would be in for a rough time.

The falls offer so many views and a huge history, it’s worth spending a couple days here just to soak it all in. One of my favorites is the daredevil Museum. It tells you about all the people who have gone over the falls.

We also took a trip down the road towards the whirlpool in the Niagara river. The falls are now regulated and the water level can be controlled, so during the day the level at the whirlpool is up nearly 20 feet higher than at night – also at which point the whirlpool turns in a clockwise direction versus a counter clockwise direction (as it occurs at a higher water level).

After the whirlpool, we headed towards the boarder and surprisingly it took us no time at all to get back in to the states – it was actually really surprising. We then started on the 2.5 hour drive to Jamestown. It was much more country land than I expected, but it was beautiful.

After we made it to Jamestown, we then made our way to visit the gravesite of Lucile Ball and a few of the monuments of her around the city. We were too late to see the museum, so we plan on hitting that up tomorrow and then making our way back home to Roanoke.
