On our last day, we woke up and explored a little bit of the town as we waited on the Lucille Ball Museum to open. We checked out a couple of the local Lucy Murals which were pretty neat.

We then took a look at some of the towns other notable sights, which included this statue called “Canoe Statue”. Apparently, the pioneers would build some really long canoes to get up to this part of the landscape in order to build the Jamestown settlement here in New York.

Once the museum opened we explored and learned about the history of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez. I wasn’t really a fan of the show growing up but my dad and sister were so they found it much more relatable. I did think it was neat how these two people came together though. One was from a low-income country settlement and made it big into Hollywood, while the other came from a prominent Cuban family in the government which was eventually overthrown and the family had to flee to the US. Here they started from scratch until Desi was picked up by Hollywood where the two eventually met and married.

After our trip to the Museum, we explored a bit more of the downtown area and then set sail towards home. It was another 8 hour drive ahead of us at this point which would also mark the end of our Canadian Adventure. It was really an awesome trip and I would definitely recommend it or any of the places we visited to anyone. If you get an opportunity, don’t miss a chance to visit these areas!
