Lucerne & EngelBerg by Chad, Emily and Kenny

In our last Day in Interlaken we had some decisions to make. It was decided last minute that we would not go skiing as we had little experience and the mountains that were available to ski on could have been more miserable to attempt to ski on than actually enjoying.

So we ended up doing some traveling and made our way to Luzerne. Unfortunately, the fog had already started rolling in on this area so the city was pretty covered. However, this had a fairly neat look on the area. There is a river that seems to run through the middle of the city (like every other city we had seen so far) with several footbridges running over it. The town had a homie feel to it which was nice considering the cold. After walking around a few ours and grabbing some city photos, we made our way to the train station for our next destination.

Engelberg was on the next stop. Here we were planning on going to the top for Titlis and walking across the highest suspension bridge in Europe! The bridge is located somewhere around 10000 feet above sea level and it provided an amazing view! There is also a separate lift that takes you down and back up the glacier to give some pretty neat scenery while watching some of the skiers traverse the slopes.

Another pretty awesome place was the ice cave inside the glacier. It was literally a solid Ice tunnel carved inside the glacier that had some different designs in it and some frozen flowers. A very neat and fun experience.

Once we finished up we had to head back down because this was the last day our Swiss travel pass was valid (best purchase of the trip probably). Which meant after this day we would have to pay for transportation once again. So we caught the bus back to the Engelberg train station and started our return voyage to Interlaken.

After arriving in Interlaken three hours later, we grabbed our bags from the hotel and then caught our next train to Speize where we traded trains once more to head to Bern. In Bern we caught our last connection back to Geneva where we would stay our final night before flying back to Brussels to head home to the US.
